"天草磁器土を原料とする泥漿の流動性と成形性は、通常、含水率とケイ酸ナトリウム(水ガラス)添加量で調整される。本研究では、泥漿のレオロジー特性を回転粘度計で定量的に評価し、含水率の小さな泥漿において石膏型泥漿鋳込み成形可能となる調整条件を検討した。その結果、泥漿はビンガム流体的なレオロジー特性を示し、降伏せん断応力 τY は主としてケイ酸ナトリウム添加量の増加により減少し、塑性粘度 ηP は主として含水率の増加により減少することがわかった。本研究で採用した鋳込み用天草磁器土の場合、流動性と成形性が共に比較的良好な泥漿にするためには、含水率26mass%に対しケイ酸ナトリウム添加量が0.4mass%以上、含水率25mass%に対しケイ酸ナトリウム添加量が0.5mass%以上である必要があり、含水率24mass%以下では良好な泥漿調整が困難であることがわかった。",
